Served as the Chairman, Department of Law, University of Dhaka during the 2003-2005 period. (During this period massive activities were undertaken by the Chairman to improve the overall teaching and research environment of the Department that include preparation of new and updated syllabus for the LL.B. (Hons.) course, establishment of a rich modern law library at the Department, arrangement of seminars and law lectures by foreign scholars, providing internet connection, development of web page for the Department, workshop on advanced legal research for MPhil and PhD students, and renovating class rooms with modern equipments such as overhead projectors).

Served as university teacher in the Department of Law, University of Dhaka for almost twenty five years. Joined the Department of Law, University of Dhaka as Lecturer on 4th January 1986.

A number of students have successfully completed Phd and MPhil degrees under my supervision from the Department of Law, University of Dhaka.

Served as a law consultant in UNDP/JUST, a Supreme Court of Bangladesh and UNDP joint ventured project, on access to justice in Bangladesh. Report already submitted.

Served as National Law Consultant in a FAO project on Biotechnology, Food Safety, Intellectual Property in Bangladesh.

Served as a law and policy consultant in the National Biosafety Framework Development Project of the Government of Bangladesh being implemented under the supervision of UNEP/GEF. Written First Three Chapters of the National Biosafety Framework which is an international document and now available on website of Department of Environment, Bangladesh.

Served as Member, National Committee on WAQF in Bangladesh and as Chairman, to the Waqf Law Amendment Committee, Bangladesh National Waqf Board.

Assisted in the development of Ozone regulation in Bangladesh under the Department of Environment.

Served as a B.C.S Judicial Officer (Munsif) during the 1983-1985 period. Stood first in the B.C.S. (Judicial) examination.

Have experience in teaching law subjects at private universities.

Served as an instructor to the Clinical Legal Education Programme of the Department of Law, University of Dhaka for more than five years. Received special training from American, Australian and Indian experts on how to provide practical law advocacy training to students.
