2nd DUMCS-TIB Anti-Corruption Moot Court Competition 2019 [28-30 November 2019]: Register by 7 November
Dhaka University Moot Court Society (DUMCS) is organising ‘2nd DUMCS-TIB Anti-Corruption Moot Court Competition, 2019’, in collaboration with Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB), with an aim to harness the argumentative skills of young law students across the country and to develop an interest in respect of anti-corruption laws. The oral rounds of the competition will take place from 28-30 November, 2019.
The previous edition of the competition, the first of its kind in Bangladesh, was held in 2017, in the historic campus of the University of Dhaka. It assembled together 16 law faculties of the country to discuss and debate upon anti-corruption law and policy.
Dhaka University Moot Court Society invites all law schools of Bangladesh to participate in the Competition. The registration and details of the teams is to be submitted through concerned Faculty/Department/School no later than 7th November, 2019.
Venue:
Faculty of Law, University of Dhaka.
Teams:
The Competition is open to all students currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree on a full time basis in a program of study leading to or equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) or Masters in Law (LLM) program from any approved university in Bangladesh. The team shall consist of three members, two of them will be oralists and the other will be a researcher. A coach may accompany the team to provide guidance.
Moot Problem, Rules and Registration:
The Moot Problem, Rules of the Competition, and the Registration Form is available through the website of TIB (www.ti-bangladesh.org). The Registration Form is to be sent to dumcs.bd@gmail.com along with a selection letter from the Faculty of the University no later than 7th November, 2019.
Clarification:
Clarification requests should be clear, unambiguous, and only be in relation to the facts of the case. A participating team may make one formal request for clarifications with a maximum of 3 questions. The email should have “Clarification Request on Moot Proposition” as the subject, and should be sent via email to moot_memo@ti-bangladesh.org. The deadline for requesting clarifications is 10th November, 2019.
